Less moving parts, durable and works as designed. This is my second ball retriever from the Igotcha company. This ball retriever replaces one that I lost recently. The previous ball retriever had too many moving parts and actually did come apart a couple of times. So when I searched for a replacement I went with the Jaws model instead and I am extremely happy.To begin with IGotcha probably makes the best ball retriever on the market. Their retrievers are made from high-quality materials and are expandable while allowing you to place one of these in your bag. They are very compact and they do just exactly as advertised. The Jaws model is very simplistic but it’s simply works very well. The rubber grips in the jaw mechanism that are on the inside of the retrieving hoop fit over any golf ball and has just the right amount of friction and grip to pull your ball back out of the water or from inside bushes or other vegetation.This in my opinion, is the best model offered by the company because there are no moving parts to break. I guess I feel very fortunate that I lost my first model and I opted to replace it with this one because in my opinion, this is a far superior model than the previous one I purchased.

Love this thing. I bought the 14′ version to scoop out of small creeks about 4-6 feet across. inexpensive & light weight (half the weight of the 18′ version. It paid for itself the first time I used it – collected 8 balls in the creek, including 4 pristine ProV1’s! Super simple to use (only moving part is the telescopic handle). I mostly only need about 6-8′ to reach balls, and it is perfectly sturdy at that length. I did try fully extending to reach a ball about 15 ft across a wide creek. While I was successful in grabbing the ball in mud on other bank, it was a bit bendy and felt much flimsier and harder to manage. If there had been a foursome behind us, I would have had to abandon the effort!!If you plan to use this to reach more than 10′ frequently, I’d suggest looking into getting the longer version.

Just apply downward pressure on golf ball. Easy to use and it work better as long as you apply downward pressure on ball. I am really happy i bought this ball retriever.
